Chevrolet Tracker is a subcompact crossover with a "global focus", which is focused primarily on urban exploitation, but it is also adapted for forays into nature (although in this case it is better not to think about off-roading) ...

In the second decade of February 2016, at the international Chicago auto show, an official demonstration of the restyled car took place - the exterior was "redrawn" in accordance with the current brand style, the interior was improved and new modern options were added (the equipment was left unchanged).

In North America, sales of the five-door began in the fall of the same year, and at the beginning of 2017 it reached Ukraine (and in the near future its production will be set up at a plant in Uzbekistan).

And before the Chevrolet Tracker looked attractive, knocked down and strong, and after the update it received a more harmonious and fit look. The facade of the car is especially good - daring optics with LED "eyeliners" of running lights, a two-level radiator grill and a raised bumper with a low hanging "lip".

From other angles, the SUV demonstrates not so spectacular, but quite stylish outlines: a sporty folded silhouette with pronounced "muscles" of rounded-square wheel arches and a sloping roof and a lean rear with a complex trunk lid and graceful lanterns.

Restyled "Tracker" fits into the requirements of the subcompact class: 4248 mm in length, 1792 mm in width (2035 mm including exterior mirrors) and 1674 mm in height. Between the wheelsets of the off-road vehicle, a base of 2555 mm extends, and under the bottom there is a 168-mm ground clearance.
When equipped, the five-door weighs from 1285 to 1382 kg, depending on the version.

The interior of the Chevrolet Tracker 2017 model year meets the riders with a modern design, solid finishing materials and good workmanship. The massive front panel in the central part flaunts the 7-inch touchscreen of the MyLink multimedia system, under which there are three symmetrical "washers" of the climate complex. The dashboard of the crossover is represented by two analog dials and an on-board computer display on the right side, and its three-spoke steering wheel not only looks modern, but also carries control elements.

For all its compactness, the restyled "Tracker" pleases with its interior space, and even on the second row, tall passengers will be able to sit down quite freely. The front seats are equipped with comfortable armchairs with unobtrusive side bolsters and sufficient adjustment intervals, and in the back there is a full-fledged sofa with a welcoming profile.

The trunk of the Chevrolet Tracker has the correct shape (without any protrusions), and its standard volume is 356 liters. With the rear seats folded down, the capacity of the cargo compartment increases to 1370 liters, and in its underground (regardless of the configuration) there is a spare wheel, albeit a small one.

Specifications. Two petrol four-cylinder engines are announced for the updated "Tracker":

  • By default, the SUV is equipped with a 1.8-liter "atmospheric" with a distributed fuel supply, a 16-valve DOHC timing belt and adjustable valve timing, which produces 140 "horses" at 6200 rpm and 178 Nm of torque at 3800 rpm.
  • "Top" versions are equipped with a 1.4-liter engine with multi-point "power", a turbocharger and 16 valves, producing 140 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 200 Nm of available thrust at 1850-4900 rpm.

Both power plants are standardly installed in combination with front-wheel drive and manual transmissions: naturally-aspirated with 5-speed, and turbocharged with 6-speed. As an option, the SUV can be equipped with a 6-band "automatic" or an all-wheel drive transmission with a multi-plate clutch, which transfers power to the rear wheels if necessary.

The restyled Chevrolet Tracker copes with the conquest of the first "hundred" after 9.8-11.1 seconds, and accelerates to a maximum of 180-195 km / h.

In mixed driving mode, the crossover "drinks" from 6.4 to 7.9 liters of fuel for every 100 km of run.

The 2017 model year Tracker is based on the GM Gamma II architecture with a transversely mounted engine in the front. At the front, the car is equipped with an independent suspension with MacPherson struts, and at the rear - a semi-independent system with a torsion beam.
On the SUV, rack and pinion steering is used, supplemented by a hydraulic booster (on the turbocharged version - electric). All wheels of the five-door have disc brakes: on the front axle - ventilated with a diameter of 300 mm, and on the rear axle - conventional, 268 mm.

Options and prices. The updated version of the Chevrolet Tracker is not officially supplied to Russia, but, for example, on the Ukrainian market it is presented in two trim levels (LS and LT) at a price of 470,770 hryvnia (~ 1.016 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
By default, the SUV has: four airbags, ESC, ABS, EBD, TSC, HSA, air conditioning, two power windows, a six-speaker audio system, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and some other options.
